Buffalo Soldiers |Motorcyclepedia Exhibit Project

In cooperation with The Buffalo Soldiers Association of West Point , The National Association Of Buffalo Soldiers & Troopers Motorcycle Club and The Motorcycle Channel®; This group will be creating a Buffalo Soldiers exhibit at the Motorcyclepedia Museum in New Windsor NY.

Ted Doering, owner of the museum has agreed to launch the exhibit next June in time for the Buffalo Soldiers Juneteenth celebration. The objective in cooperation with both The Buffalo Soldiers Association of West Point and  National Association Of Buffalo Soldiers & Troopers Motorcycle Club is to find and collect artifacts for the new Buffalo Soldiers exhibit at the Motorcyclepedia museum. The Motorcycle Channel® will take part in creating the exhibit as well as documenting the quest in finding these items that will be donated, replicated and collected for the upcoming Exhibit. Our hope is capturing the story behind each artifact collected as well capturing the creation of the exhibit itself.

We are asking members of all factions of the Buffalo Soldiers to help participate in this monumental quest to make this exhibit a reality. Below are a list of items that can be donated, duplicated or loaned for the exhibit. We ask when possible that the items be replicas,  photos or copies so that these items can be permanent fixtures of the museum exhibit for The Buffalo Soldiers  The Buffalo Soldiers Exhibit at The Motorcyclepedia Museum will collect artifacts that document the history of the Buffalo Soldiers story. Our objective is to create a rich collection of historical artifacts and archives that will allow the Museum to share the extraordinary history behind The Buffalo Soldiers

What happens after I send my artifacts to the Buffalo Soldiers - Motorcyclepedia Exhibit Project

The collections committee evaluates each potential acquisition and determines its place. If your artifact is accepted by the committee, you’ll receive an itemized Deed of Gift, which formalizes the donation.  If for some reason the artifacts are not accepted, they will be returned to you

How will the Museum use its collection?

Every item in the Museum’s exhibit collection helps us tell the stories of The Buffalo Soldiers as well as the many individuals involved in the rich history of The Buffalo Soldiers. The hope is that this Buffalo Soldiers Exhibit at The Motorcyclepedia be a visual guide of the original Buffalo Soldiers as well as the beginning of The Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club.

When will my artifacts go on display?

Each donation expands our ability to tell the stories of The Buffalo Soldiers. The amount of artifacts collected will determine the size of the exhibit.. We also preserve our collections so that future generations will be able to learn from them.
